We are improving pedestrian crossings at these intersections:
We will add crosswalks, signs, road striping and curb ramps. Rectangular Rapid-Flashing Beacons (RRFBs) will also be installed at these locations to alert drivers of the presence of bikes and pedestrians in the roadway. RRFBs are crossing signals with flashing lights that turn on when a pedestrian presses a button.
These projects are funded by the Urban Road Maintenance District (URMD). They were selected for funding based on a requests from community members, public input and selection by the Urban Road Maintenance District Advisory Committee (URMDAC).
Since 2011, 74 URMD Pedestrian and Biking Improvement Projects totaling over $39 million have been funded. The public can submit Pedestrian and Biking Improvement proposals. Eligible proposals are added to the Pedestrian and Biking Improvements Candidate List.
